Organist
Thomas
Kosóczki was born in 1979, in Baja. He started his musical studies
in 1992 in a cantor course in Baja. His teacher was Vilmos Leányfalusi,
the organist and conductor of the Cathedral in Kalocsa. He received his diploma
of Roman Catholic Cantor in 1996.
He
continued his studies in the conservatory of the University of Szeged, where
he passed into university training in 1998. His teacher was dr. László
Csanádi. His organist master concert was in the spring of the year
of 2003, in Szeged. He attended the doctor school of the Liszt Ferenc Academy
of Music since 2004 to 2007, in Budapest. Now he is about to complete his DLA
thesis. His teachers were: István Lantos, dr. Dezső Karasszon
and dr. István Ruppert.
Between 1999 and 2007 he was the organ teacher of the
Bartók Béla Conservatory in Békéscsaba. Since 2000 to 2007 he also taught organ
and piano in the Danubia music school in Baja. Int he school year of 2007-2008 he
was organ and piano teacher in the Bartók Béla music school in Vác. In
September of 2008 he returned to his home town where he is organ and piano
teacher in the Liszt Ferenc music school.
In 1998 he established the
Organ Festival in the Parish Church of Baja which is - since the beginning -
under his organization. He is the organist of the Parish Church in Baja since
the 1st July, 2003.
In 2002
he obtained the republican scholarship, and in 2005 and in 2006 the Fischer
Annie scholarship of the National Culture Ministry.
In
his concerts, where he had successes in Hungary, Germany, Romania and Serbia,
he prefers the compositions of Bach, Liszt, Reger and Widor.
